Brownsville
Historians call Brownsville the second most historical city in the state of Texas. Brownsville's past is a long and colorful one. It is the oldest city in South Texas as the first Anglo settlement was established just north of the present city limits in 1771. It was the site of the first battle of the Mexican/American War and the last battle of the Civil War.
Through the years I have recorded many of the historical buildings and sites in and around this interesting city; a lot of the buildings still exist, many more have been destroyed or simply vanquished with the time. If you get the chance please review this site again as I will add images when I get the chance to scan them.

Historic Old Fort Brown / Shown here is the Fort as it was in 1916 with the troops on the parade ground.

Immaculate Conception Cathedral
One of the oldest remaining structures in Brownsville, Texas; built, 1854-1859 by the French missionaries of the Order of Oblates of Mary Immaculate. This gothic structure now serves as a Cathedral for the Catholic Diocese of Brownsville.
The image pictured above is from my "From The Top" Collection; a series of smaller sized watercolors of area Churchs and other interesting historical buildings put into full color limited editon prints.
Only 10 prints will be available of each Historical building. The image is small, only 7"x7" approximate, but is printed on 13"x19" fine art paper. I have each these framed and on display at my Gallery in Brownsville. Although a small print, the size is quite nice as it frames up to about 15"x20".
